Educational Qualification 

All candidates should have qualified in the Undergraduate NEET 2017 examination.

A candidate for admission to medical course “must have 60%@ marks at +2 level in each of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany and Zoology taken together) and have an aggregate of 140 / 200 in these subjects, both at qualifying and competitive examinations and should have passed in English” ( as per state & University guidelines ). ( @ 60% in each and 130 / 200 aggregate for BC; 55% in each and 120 / 200 aggregate for MBC; and 40% in each and 80 / 200 aggregate for SC / ST candidates). ( BC, MBC, SC / ST as defined by the TN Govt; all rules subject to change as per State & University guidelines ) Example: If a candidate has 72% in Biology, 66% in Chemistry and 70% in Physics, then the aggregate works out to : { 72 + ( 66 + 70 ) / 2 } or { 72 + 68 } out of 200, i.e. 140 / 200 and is eligible.

However, a candidate with 68 in Biology, 72 in Chemistry and 70 in Physics will have only { 68+ ( 72 + 70 ) / 2 } on 200 or { 68 + 71 } on 200 i.e. 139 / 200 and is not eligible. Please check the Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University website for the latest eligibility criteria.

Age Limit 

Candidates should have been born on or before 31st December, 2000.

The Step – 1 Aptitude assessment test for NEET ( UG ) – 2017 qualified MBBS applicants will consist of multiple-choice questions in General Ability, with emphasis on Speed and Accuracy, and a few questions on issues of current topical interest.

How to Apply

The CMC Vellore MBBS Entrance Exam 2017 Application form will be available from the official website of  at

Applications can be accessed only online from 13th March, 2017. The last date for online application submission, with payment of application fee, is 15th June, 2017.

The last date for receipt of any supporting documents is 17th June, 2017 before 12:00 Noon

Application Fee

The application fee includes a basic administrative fee of Rs. 800/- plus a registration fee per course applied. For MBBS Programs the application fee is Rs. 500/-

The application fee can be paid by any one of the methods given below :

As a challan at no extra cost at any branch of ICICI bank in India. A challan will be generated when filling payment details in the application form. Please mention FC-CMC-V on the challan. Send the original challan to this office before 15th June 2017.

Online payment using Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking.

  • Use only your own (or parents / guardians) credit card / debit card / net banking for these transactions. If this is not possible, please choose the payment option of ICICI challan.
  • When using a credit card / debit card / net banking, if the transaction is not successful, please check with your bank debit card / credit card / net banking account to see if the amount was debited.
    • If it has been debited, please send us an email to and we will follow up.
    • If the amount has not been debited, please wait for 24 – 48 hours. The transaction is likely to be completed OR will probably be refunded to you by your bank in which case you will need to do the payment process again.

Application form Submission 

  • Fill the form online, check the details for correctness and submit.
  • Upload your photograph and signature.
  • Make your Payment by any one of the methods mentioned above.
  • Take a print out of the completed application form and the application confirmation page for your reference. ( Do not send a hard copy of your application form to the Registrar’s Office.)
  • Send the proof of payment ( ICICI challan payment ) and all the other required ENCLOSURES where applicable to the Office of the Registrar, CMC, Vellore – 632002 to reach not later than 15th June, 2017.

Hall Tickets will be available for download on the CMC website 1 week before the examination.

If a candidate is unable to download the Hall Ticket from the website, they are advised to inform the Registrar immediately, giving the candidate’s name, application number, date of birth, full address, and centre opted for the Computer based Test, by sending an email to or by telephone, post or fax ( 0416 – 2262788 / 2262268 ). Hall ticket number and address of the centre will be intimated if the candidate’s application is complete in all aspects.

CMC Vellore MBBS 2017 Selection Process

All candidates are aware of the objectives of The Christian Medical College Vellore which is “the establishment, maintenance and development of a Christian Medical College and Hospitals in India, where women and men shall receive an education of the highest grade in the art and science of medicine and of nursing, or in one or other of the related professions, to equip them in the spirit of Christ for service in the relief of suffering and the promotion of health”.

The aforesaid object is based on the religious percept of “Healing the Sick”, Mathew 10.8.

For the Christian Medical College more than a century old, unaided, Christian minority, non-capitation fee institution, to ascertain the suitability of NEET eligible candidates for undergoing the MBBS course, assessing their general ability viz. their aptitude and analytical skills, is an extremely important facet which has helped the Institution to achieve its objectives to serve the needy even in areas where people have limited access to medical aid.

The assessment of a candidate’s general ability has been an integral part of the selection process in the Christian Medical College for more than 6 decades. The Institution wishes to make it clear that the assessment of the general ability of the candidate is not an admission test but is only to ensure that NEET qualified candidates seeking consideration for selection to Christian Medical College are suited to achieve the objectives of the Institution.

Consequently, all NEET qualified applicants will have to undergo an objective assessment of their general ability for which purpose a Computer Based Test, Step 1 – Aptitude assessment will be conducted.

All NEET qualified applicants whose applications are in order and complete will be registered for Step 1 – Aptitude assessment.

UG NEET 2017 Score Submission 

All registered applicants have to submit their UG NEET 2017 Score at our website, before the last date specified.

Candidates will be short-listed for Step-2 at Vellore, based on NEET scores and Step 1 – Aptitude assessment test. Step 2 consists of special tests to assess the candidate’s character and suitability. Interviews also will form part of the assessment at this stage. All admissions are based on inter-se merit. The selection process / admission will be subject to any orders passed or that may be passed by the Government / University / Professional Councils.

The decision of the Selection Committee is final.
