UPSC Recruitment Eligibility 2018

Translator ( Burmese )

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Foreign Language concerned ( BURMESE ) with English as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level from a recognized University ( OR ) Bachelor’s degree with English as a compulsory or elective subject from a recognized University.
  • Diploma in foreign language concerned ( BURMESE ) with interpretership or translation standard from a University or Institute recognized by Government of India.

Note  : Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Age Limit

  • The age of the candidate should be 35 years.

Translator ( Dari / Persian )

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Foreign Language concerned (Dari/Persian) with English as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level from a recognized University ( OR ) Bachelor’s degree with English as a compulsory or elective subject from a recognized University.
  • Diploma in foreign language concerned ( Dari / Persian ) with interpretership or translation standard from a University or Institute recognized by Government of India.

Note :  Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Age Limit

  • The age of the candidate should be 40 years.

Legal Officer ( Grade-II )

Educational Qualification

  • Master’s degree in Law with specialization in the field of International Law and / or International Relations or International Organizations from a recognized University.

Note : International Law would, inter-alia, include major areas of International Law such as Law of the Sea, Human Rights Law, International Environmental Law, International Criminal Law and International Trade Law. Candidates having specialization in International Law in M. Phil. or Ph. D. level but not at Master’s level will also be eligible.

Desirable Qualification

  • Certificate course ( at least 6 months duration )  in one or two foreign languages other than English.

Experience

  • Five years’ experience, after obtaining minimum educational qualification in Legal Affairs, namely Legal Practitioner, in Legal service of the Government, teaching or conducting or guiding research in International Law or in the Law of International Organizations.

Age Limit

  • The age of the candidate should be 40 years.

Public Prosecutor

Educational Qualification

  • Degree in Law of a recognized University.
  • Basic knowledge of word processing on computer and internet.

Experience

  • Seven years practice as an Advocate in conducting criminal cases or Seven years experience of State Judicial Service or Legal Department of State or Central Government.

Age Limit

  • The age of the candidate should be 35 years.

Note : Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of UPSC in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

Stores Officer

Educational Qualification

  • Degree in Engineering from a recognised University or Institute ( OR  )
  • Degree in Science with two years experience in Materials Management ( procurement, maintenance of scientific and technical stores and equipments and inventory control ).

Note : Qualification are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified. The qualification(s) regarding experience is / are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, in case of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, if at any stage of selection, Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.

Age Limit

  • The age of the candidate should be 30 years.

Senior Lecturer ( Textile Processing )

Educational Qualification

  • Degree in Textile Processing or Textile Chemistry or Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Textile Processing or Textile Chemistry from a recognised University or Institute or Post Diploma in Textile Chemistry or Textile Processing from a recognised University or Institute.

Desirable Qualification

  • Master of Technology in Textile Processing or Textile Chemistry from a recognised University or Institute.

Experience

  • Three years experience as a Lecturer in Textile Chemistry / Bleaching / Dyeing / Printing / Finishing in a recognised Institute or as a shift-in-charge in a dye house / Textile mill in wet processing / finishing / bleaching of textiles.

Note :  The qualifications are relaxable at Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.

UPSC Recruitment Job Responsibilities 2018

Translator ( Burmese )

  • Translation into English of intercepted traffic, recorded tapes and printed material. Perusal & checking of translation work of unit translators.
  • Translation of materials received from Military Intelligence Directorate and other sources.
  • Preparation of training exercises for languages trained personnel.
  • Maintenance of foreign language publication, collation of intelligence information & other allied jobs.

Translator ( Dari / Persian )

  • Translation into English of intercepted traffic, recorded tapes and printed material. Perusal & checking of translation work of unit translators.

Legal Officer ( Grade-II )

  • To assist Legal and Treaties Division on Legal aspects concerning India’s International Treaties, Laws of seas, rivers etc.

Public Prosecutor

  • To deal / look after all legal matters of the National Investigation Agency which will include conducting of cases in courts, legal vetting of various documents, giving legal opinions, drafting and preparation of legal correspondence, handling appeals and revisions etc.

Stores Officer

  • To look after any or all Materials Management functions including material procurement, maintenance of stores etc.

Senior Lecturer ( Textile Processing )

  • Handling lectures both theory and practical in the subjects of Textile Chemistry for the Diploma Course.
  • To be overall in-charge of Chemical and processing Section of the Institute, as and when required.
  • To guide students in Project work.

UPSC Recruitment Application Form 2018

How To Apply

Candidates must apply online through the website www.upsconline.nic.in. Applications received through any other mode would not be accepted and summarily rejected.

Candidates must upload the following documents / certificates relating to educational qualification, Date of Birth, Experience ( preferably in prescribed format ), Desirable Qualification(s) or any other information, as claimed in the online application, in a single pdf file in such a way that the file size does not exceed 2 MB and is legible when a printout taken. For that purpose, the applicant may scan the following documents / certificates in 200 dpi grey scale. Documents like Pay Slip, Resume, Appointment Letter, Relieving Letter, Un-signed Experience Certificate etc. must not be uploaded in the Document Upload Module.

  • Matriculation /10th Standard or equivalent certificate indicating date of birth, or mark sheet of Matriculation /10th Standard or equivalent issued by Central / State Board indicating Date of Birth in support of claim of age. Where date of birth is not available in certificate / mark sheets, issued by concerned Educational Boards, School leaving certificate indicating Date of Birth ( in case of Tamil Nadu& Kerala ).
  • Degree / Diploma certificate as proof of educational qualification claimed. In the absence of Degree / Diploma certificate, provisional certificate along with mark sheets pertaining to all the academic years.
  • Order / letter in respect of equivalent Educational Qualifications claimed, indicating the Authority ( with number and date ) under which it has been so treated, in respect of equivalent clause in Essential Qualifications, if a candidate is claiming a particular qualification as equivalent qualification as per the requirement of advertisement.
  • Certificate(s) in the prescribed proforma from the Head(s) of Organization(s) / Department(s) for the entire experience claimed, clearly mentioning the duration of employment (date, month & year) indicating the basic pay and consolidated pay. The certificate(s) should also mention the nature of duties performed / experience obtained in the post(s) with duration(s). Experience Certificate should be issued in prescribed format relevant to the post. Experience certificate not in prescribed proforma but containing all the details as mentioned above would be considered on merits by the Commission.
  • Caste certificate by candidate seeking reservation as SC /  ST / OBC, in the prescribed proforma from the competent authority indicating clearly the candidate’s Caste, the Act/ Order under which the Caste is recognized as SC / ST / OBC and the village / town the candidate is ordinarily a resident of.
  • A declaration in the prescribed format by candidate seeking reservation as OBC, that he / she does not belong to the creamy layer on the crucial date, in addition to the community certificate ( OBC ). Unless specified otherwise, the prescribed closing date for receipt of Online Recruitment Application for the post is to be treated as crucial date.
  • Physically Handicapped certificate in prescribed proforma issued by the competent authority by Physically Handicapped persons eligible for appointment to the post on the basis of prescribed standards of Medical Fitness. The Competent Authority to issue Physically Handicapped certificate shall be a Medical Board duly constituted by the Central or a State Government. The Central / State Government may constitute Medical Board(s) consisting of at least three members out of which at least one shall be a specialist in the particular field for assessing Locomotor / Cerebral / Visual / Hearing disability, as the case may be.
  • Documentary support for any other claim(s) made.

Candidates who wish to apply for more than one post should apply separately for each post and pay the fee for each post in the prescribed manner. After submitting the Online Recruitment Application ( ORA ), the candidates are required to take out a print out of the finally submitted Online Recruitment Application. Candidates are not required to submit to the Commission either by post or by hand the printouts of their online applications or any other document. They will be required to bring along with them the printouts of their online applications and the documents mentioned below if called for interview.

The applicants are advised to submit only single Online Recruitment Application for each post; however, if somehow, if he / she submits multiple Online Recruitment Applications for one post, then he / she must ensure that Online Recruitment Application with the higher “Application Number” is complete in all respects including fee. The applicants, who submit multiple Online Recruitment Applications, should note that only the Online Recruitment Application with higher “Application Number” shall be entertained by the Commission and fee paid against one “Application Number” shall not be adjusted against any other “Application Number”.

The candidates are advised to submit the Online Recruitment Application on or before 29th March, 2018

Application Fee

  • Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25/- ( Rupees Twenty five ) only either by remitting the money in any branch of the SBI by cash or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa / master credit / debit card.
  • No fee for SC / ST / PH / Women candidates of any community. No “fee exemption” is available to OBC male candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee.
  • Applications without the prescribed fee would not be considered and summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection would be entertained.
  • Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.
